What is it?

A movement of THE CHURCH in Dallas coming together to serve our local communities, bringing a little bit of heaven to earth.

When is it?

The inaugural event is on May 1 and 2, 2010.

Who's involved?

Our goal is to involve congregations of all sizes, denominations and ethnicities. In addition to congregations across the Metroplex, World Vision and FC Dallas have already committed to partner with us.

Why are they doing it?

To bring the life force of Jesus to a broken world and to give glory and credit to our loving God.

How does it work?

Churches individually plan and organize one or two days of service projects over the weekend of May 1 and 2, 2010. Churches can choose to cancel services on Sunday (and Saturday night if you have them) and in place of those services do acts of service. Or if canceling church is not the right thing for your church you could do service projects throughout the weekend. It's up to you.

Each church is free to plan their own service projects the way THEY want to. What makes this powerful is having God's people serving on the same day across our communities.

We plan to have several large scale service projects that each church can choose to send some volunteers to so that we have an element of churches working together corporately.

Don't non-profits and community organizations need volunteers more so during the week and on regularly scheduled intervals?

Yes! We hope that goandbe is a catalyst, a movement resulting in new servants for Christ. Our prayer is that service will become part of everyone's DNA as we experience the power of serving together in Christ's name.
